Adolescent crisis is a phenomenon that even the most attentive parents have to deal with. The opposition between the young and the elderly, where whatever is new is interpreted by the latter as an excess, belongs to the very nature of the growing process. The relationship between Franco and his father Piero Calamandrei makes no exception. In the forties of the twentieth century, Franco’s life choices conflicted with his father’s mentality and education. Piero represents a traditional model, a strict and authoritarian father who is unable to “see” his child as different from him.

Incluso los padres más atentos no pueden evitar las crisis de sus hijos adolescentes. Está en la “naturaleza” del nuevo oven la representación de una oposición creciente que al viejo le parece un exceso. No es una excepción la relación entre Franco y su padre Piero Calamandrei. En los años cuarenta del siglo XX, las opciones de vida de Franco chocan amargamente con la mentalidad y la formación de su padre. Piero parece representar el modelo de padre antiguo, tradicional, rígido, autoritario que no puede “ver” a su hijo como distinto a él.
