Abstract

Being: A Key Category in Edda Ducci’s philosophy of education

The problem of Being stands at the core of Edda Ducci’s philoso-phy of education. A “Roman” scholar, Ducci has progressively dug onto the metaphysical and anthropological aspects of Being as a foundational category of Western philosophy. In a sense, the human being is the being that both thinks of the being, and introjects the theoretical and ethical problems of the being in its life. Finally, the human being is also that being that sets itself the goal of becoming progressively more human. Understanding such a goal stands at the core of Ducci’s thought, whose development was determined by a continuous dialogue with philosophers such as Kierkegaard, Ebner, Fabro, and Monsignor Rossano. Ducci’s philosophy elaborates on the “humanized” human being as de iure and de facto a person, whose main feature is that of being an open and responsible communicating being, and whose structure is based on both logos and dialogos. Therefore, Ducci develops a peculiar form of personalism, which is enrooted in the dynamics of human living experience, and still very much appealing.

El Ser: una categoría clave en la investigación pedagógica de Edda Ducci

La investigación filosófica y educativa de Edda Ducci se ha centrado en el problema del ser. Una categoría fundamental de la filosofía occidental que la erudita “romana” ha desarrollado progresivamente desde sus aspectos metafísicos hasta los antropológicos. El ser que piensa el ser y experimenta el mismo problema teórico y ético es el hombre, que luego se pone a sí mismo una tarea: convertirse cada vez más en un ser humano. De ahí la rica investigación de Ducci, nutrida por diferentes autores (Kierkegaard y Ebner en particular, también Fabro y mons. Rossano). La filosofía de Ducci que desarrolla de jure y de facto ese “hombre humano” como persona, estructurado entre logos y dialogos como comunicación abierta y responsable. De ahí que Ducci haya desarrollado una forma peculiar de personalismo, que está enraizado en la dinámica de la experiencia humana, y aún todavía llena de actualidad.
