Abstract


John Locke and Some Thoughts concerning Education: between Nature and Culture

This paper analyzes some aspects of John Locke's pedagogical vi-sion, with particular regard to his main educational work Some Thoughts concerning Education, developing a comparison with his Essay concerning human understanding. Our analysis will focus on Locke's investigations concerning the human perfection, the re-lationship between nature and cultural habit, the connection be-tween tempers and characters, within a pedagogical discourse ad-dressed to the education of a modern citizen.

 

John Locke y Some Thoughts concerning Education: entre la natu-raleza y la cultura

Este ensayo analiza algunos aspectos de la reflexión pedagógica de John Locke, con especial referencia a su principal obra educativa: Some Thoughts concerning Education, en comparación con su Essay concerning human understanding. Nuestro análisis se centrará en la investigación de Locke sobre la perfección humana, en la relación entre la naturaleza y el hábito cultural, en la conexión entre el temperamento y el carácter, dentro de un discurso pedagógico orientado a la educación de un ciudadano moderno.
